In this workshop you will cultivate strength and balance, learning some of the most fun drills and exercises to get yourself safely up into headstand. I will offer you a step by step movement progression, so that you can feel safe and supported throughout the session. You will learn the techniques to be able to find headstand in your own time when your body is ready. Gaining the knowledge to learn how to lift off in a playful and supportive way. I will show you how to access the power of props to fully support your growing practice. But most importantly headstand is humbling, it challenges our body's capabilities and drop us into the present moment. They are a reminder that we are strong and anything is capable with time, practise and dedication. Believe in yourself and you just might lift off!

What to expect
I will welcome you into our wonderful, playful space for the morning. We will start by settling our excitement with a mini mediation to get focused, release expectations and fear. Once we have dropped into the present moment we will being to get playful.
Please note that there is never any judgment or expectations in my classes or workshops, we get on the mats to explore the capabilities and movements of our own bodies.
Lets start the session off with some great strengthening exercises to get the body warmed up and open to going upside down. These exercises will help with the mechanics of finding headstand and have been specially created to switch on the muscles that we will be using, not only will we need to strengthen but also there will be some mobility exercises as well to create the space that will help support us on our journey towards getting those legs up! I will offer you a step by step movement progression so that you can feel safe and supported, learn the techniques and be able to find these poses in your own time when your body is ready. You will learn to lift off in a playful supportive way, I will show you how to access the power of props to fully support your growing practice.
Headstands are humbling and there are many different ways to entre and exist this pose as well as lots of variations of headstand, we will make the time to play with all different variations and find one that feels most supportive for you. One of the most wonderful things about headstand is the trust that you feel in your body and the fact that you cant think of anything else other than being upside down. they challenge our body's capabilities and drop us into the present moment. They are a reminder that we are strong and anything is capable with time, practise and dedication. They are a powerful tool that can help us overcome fear and build trust in our bodies, i would argue that they offer the us the most important lesson of patience and being persistent towards our heart’s desires.
